Deb McGuire is a passionate quilter. She likes to describe her style as that of a Contemporary Traditionalist. Taking traditional patterns and techniques and representing them in a modern new way using fabrics and colourways that work in the modern family home. Deb is an avid student of the History of Quiltmaking and talks passionately about the thread of history that binds us all in this craft. Deb is evangelical about the fact that everyone should make at least one quilt in their life! She has spent the last 10 years converting everyone she meets..one new quilter at a time! Deb feels strongly about making this craft accessible and inclusive and runs classes for everyone from kids upward, teaching her popular Simple Sampler class to over 150 people in the last 5 years.
Deb is a long time member of The Quilters Guild and serves on its Social Media and IT Committee at York. Deb has been sewing all of her life and making quilts for more than 15 years. Deb runs The PlainStitch Workroom, lives in the beautiful Chiltern Hills just outside of London and is a wife, and a mum to three lovely school aged kids and a menagerie of animals.
