The Wendover Sewing Bee, led by Deb McGuire were commissioned by our local Parish Council in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, UK to make a quilt to remember the stories collected in a village history project to commemorate the 100 years anniversary of the end of WW1.
This quilt will be on display at The Festival of Quilts at Birmingham NEC from Thursday 11th – Sunday 14th August. From September it will hang in the library in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, HP22 6EA
This quilt was made by the people of our small town. Over 100 participants aged 7-97 years old ( Bee members sewed the panels, children and older people from the village care home made the poppies – each poppy is initialed by its maker) helped to tell the stories of our RAF Halton base, our 3 local churches, infants and junior school and village cricket club from that time.
